Nikon or Canon???
I have a questions for photographers out there. My friends and I have this constant argument of which camera brand is better, Nikon or Canon. I being a Nikon owner, I obviously chose Nikon.
So, I’m curious to what out people are using. So, my question is Nikon or Canon and why? Answer below by responding to this post.

I’ve never used a Nikon, but I know they are “state of the art”and have more name recognition than
Canon..especially in circles that don’t involve photographers. I think the Nikon will be found in areas that involve more work that is associated with “artistic photography” and the Canon is more prevalent in photojournalism. Canon is especially evident in sports. Take a look at any major sporting event and note the number of white lenses.
It’s still a “Ford-Chevy” debate though….they both market amazing technology!
I know photojournalists who have switched from Nikon to Canon, but not vise-versa. Take a look at the sportsshooter.com website for equipment tests and professional ratings, etc.

Myself and some of my other photographers are actually members of sportsshoters.com so I am well aware of the equipment tests and the professional ratings. I posted that question to find out, what people are using and why. It was meant more for the everyday person (amatuer photographer) than the professional. I personally just love to hear input from the people on what they prefer, whether it’s professional or amatuer.
I for one started with Nikon and also thought about swithing from Nikon to Canon. I decided to stick it out and I am now very happy with my New Nikon D3. And you are right it’s like the “Ford-Chevy” debate and I’m a Chevy guy.

Thanks for stopping by. Bruce, you are wrong….I actually have 4 Nikon’s. I would give you one but it’s certainly too complicated for you. LOL. I actually still use all 4. And Bruce, your birthday isn’t until December. LOL.

I am a avid Canon user. Have been since high school shooting black & white film, developing and then making my own prints. Loved my manual 35mm. Once digital came along I just went with Canon. Canon has been in the photogrophy industry for quite a while. Canon developes their own processors unlike Nikon who has Fuji make their processor. So for me the choice was Canon. I own a Canon 40D and have not been disapointed. I mostly take pictures of my family and some landscape shots around the island.
Bruce… I think a disposable camera is more your speed :-).

Looks like it’s so far 2 for Cannon and 1 for a disposable camera. No Nikon Users…Yet. LOL.
