Pan Pacific Soccer Championships - Hawai’i

 February 20, 2008 - The inaugural Pan-Pacific Championship will be underway today in Hawai’i at 6 pm HST from Aloha Stadium.  This world class professional soccer tournament will included Major League Soccer Champions Houston Dynamo, Yamazaki Nabisco Cup champion Gamba Osaka (J-League), SuperLiga finalists Los Angeles Galaxy and Australian A League team, the Sydney FC.This will be a single elimination tournament starting today with the LA Galaxy vs Gamba Osaka at 6pm.  Then at 8:30 pm, the Houston Dynamo and Syney FC.  With the finals on February 23, 2008.   The games with be on live at ESPN Classic or ESPN360.com.This tournament is also a special homecoming for Brian Ching of the Houston Dynamo. Ching will be playing his first professional match in his home town of Hawai’i.  Ching is from Haleiwa and left the islands in 1996 for Gonzaga University.  Ching also played for the Seattle Sounders.
